Andrea Baer is a global reinsurance leader with more than 25 years of experience across underwriting, alternative risk transfer, and strategic market development. A German national, she joined SCOR in 2025 to build and lead the Cedant Facultative Reinsurance team for North America, spearheading the company’s growth and client engagement strategy in the region.

Before joining SCOR, Andrea led the Alternative Risk Transfer team for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions in Latin America, where she held key leadership roles across São Paulo, Miami, and Zurich. Over her tenure at Swiss Re, which began in 2008, she drove innovation in customized risk solutions and executed complex transactions across multiple markets.

Prior to her career at Swiss Re, Andrea held senior positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers and ERGO (Munich Re Group) in Germany, focusing on risk, underwriting, and advisory functions. Andrea holds a master’s degree in marketing and management from the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg and an Executive MBA in Financial Services and Insurance from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. She also holds the Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) and Associate in Captive Insurance (ACI) professional designations. Her career reflects a deep commitment to advancing reinsurance innovation, fostering client- centric solutions, and developing highperforming, globally diverse teams.
