With more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, René Buff in his current role is the group underwriting officer at Helvetia Insurance Group, focusing on governance, quality and assurance, technical underwriting, and risk management. Since 2018, he has also led Helvetia’s Cyber Committee, shaping the company’s cyber risk strategy in a continuously evolving threat landscape. In 2022, Buff became president of the Swiss Insurance Association’s Cyber Working Group, where he has been responsible for the association’s cyber positioning paper and the development of the industry’s roadmap.
